Imaginary Material

How might we begin to consider how we fabricate or materialize an image in this era of excessive digital content?

In this exercise, a photo was taken of a scene from a Tadao And building which served as the starting point for the material qualities to be transformed through a series of physical models, 3D scans, and rendering techniques. The resulting images were spatialized as a three-dimensional construct that could then stand alone from its original context. These techniques were intentionally misaligned with the expectation to produce unforeseen results that are shaped by perspectivity, gravity, and materiality in order to challenge assumptions over content and interpretation.
